Traditional Process'

My first assignment in this second year of Applied Photography is to look at Traditional Process' in photography. Part of this assignment is to look at Experimental work within film photography.
One such process is 'Bas Relief'.  This is the digital version of Bas Relief which I am really interested in creating in the darkroom.

Solarisation
Also known as the Sabattier effect involves 'fogging the image to light part way through development' The Darkroom Handbook, Langford p237.  Another technique used in the process of manipulation.
This is the digital version using a colour digital image.

Posturisation
This is a process which converts a normal image to one that has distinct  flat areas of tone or colour
This can be undertaken in the darkroom, but the process is much simpler with a digital image.

I have previously tried with some success Solarisation using traditional methods but have yet to produce  a Bas Relief Image. I would also like to consider Infra Red images and Posturisation but need to research the procedures in more depth.
