Sunshine...

Today is beautiful sunny and warm, & a good day to start blogging again.
I lost the inspiration to pick up my camera for a while and have been analysing exactly why that is....
But with the help of the 'Blip Challenge' I am beginning to refocus on what my photography means to me and where I intend to go with it.....

The Red Mount
Sitting in the centre of The Walks, King's Lynn's main urban park,
lies the Red Mount chapel.
Also known as 'Our Lady's Chapel' it is a remarkable building in that
it is completely unique and no other building like it can be found.
It was built in the 15th century to contain a relic of the Virgin, but
was also used by pilgrims on their way to Walsingham.

Today I arrived back in King's Lynn for the weekend to catch up with friends.
This is of my favourite places to wander, the park is so beautiful and I don't think I have captured the light and magic of the place as well as I wanted to. But it is one of those places that I will always want to try.

The Walks
The Walks is the only surviving town walk in Norfolk from the
18th century.
It was at first conceived not as a municipal park, as one understands
the term today, but as a single promenade for the citizens away from
the smell, grime and bustle of the town centre.

Cambridge Trip

Today I had an meeting with Anglia Ruskin University, to see if I could complete my BA in Photography with them.
The 'Walks' were looking beautiful again this morning, stunning Autumnal leaves, I had forgotton how lovely it is....
The Bandstand always looks stunning, in its own setting from whichever angle I take it.

The park is all inclusive from dog walkers to cyclists going about their business

The Station does not change overly except for the ticket barrier that they have now put in place.
The BA Course at Anglian Ruskin sounds good - I just need to get my application accepted.

I was early for the return journey and whiled away the time on the platform at Cambridge people watching, I love the strong graphics that make up the fabric of the station.

Old Haunts....

Returned to King's Lynn for the half term week. It is such a wonderful place for photography with so much contrast and colour...

Had the opportunity to join the Camera Club for a night shoot of the town in all its glory,
this is the Ferry Crossing from West Lynn.

Boats along the Quayside..

Norfolk Street

We ended up at St Nicholas Chapel, I love the mauve tones of the sky, and the hazy foggy night air.
St Nicholas Chapel is surrounded by buildings and is a very large Chapel, hence the missing tower in this shot.

St Nicholas Chapel, Steeple.

The Tudor Rose Hotel.
It was lovely to catch up with so many old friends and some new ones who have joined the club while I have been away.

Dine for two.....

Those famous words,  I am such a pushover for a great dessert, especially if it includes wine...
This ganache tart from the food porn experts tasted as good as it looked..

This is my first real attempt at food photography...
considering the lighting and styling of the image..
I have time to improve.. unlike the tart which is already perfect and certainly will not be hanging around....

the flaming dragon...

Lunch at the flaming dragon a restaurant offering unlimited dining for a fraction of its real value..

This is definitely the place to go in Nottingham if you are very hungry and on a low budget..
They even offer a student discount on top of a bargain basement price..

the dishes were piping hot, and replenished constantly.
The staff attentive and plenty of food to go around..

Lunch at Jacks

Jacks of Melbourne is the perfect place to go for an 'on the run' lunch....
Bright and relaxed, the menu is inexpensive &  perfect for the health conscious and those with a really sweet tooth!

among my favourite are the home made quiche with fab red cabbage coleslaw.

and for those with a love of Paninis, the options are endless with a choice of  fillings
such as goats cheese and roasted mediterranean vegetables...
all served up with salad and slaw..

They also serve wonderful lattes and Cappuccino's, homemade coffee and walnut cake,
which I always have intentions of eating, but more often than not, run out of room..
Today, I opted for the 'Jean Paul Gaultier' Diet Coke!!

Too Short.. and too cold...

Why is it that the weekends seem to finish before they have started... I really cant believe that it is now Sunday evening and the next working week is looming only a few hours away...
and what have I done with this oh so precious time??? well Saturday went in a flash of Junior art class, dog walking and Uni work...  and rain!!! the best of the day spent curled up and watching Strictly...

Sunday was freezing... well it was when I was out walking dogs...
Nearly finished my assignment but with another 3 looming I cannot at this point see an end in sight.. not that I really mind - I really love it...

Sunday also saw Johnny Ball take off his dancing shoes... such a shame....
And now here we are warm & cozy after homemade vegetable & chickpea curry snuggled on the sofa...
